Heaven's Kitchen opened its doors on September 11, 2018, with the simple mission of providing a weekly hot meal to those in need within the community. Over the years, what began as a modest effort quickly grew into a vital service, feeding thousands annually, with over 16,000 hot meals served just in 2023.

Each week, the dining room filled with people not only for the nourishing food but also for the warmth of fellowship. Recognizing that not everyone could make it to the kitchen—especially the elderly, those with illnesses, or individuals unable to catch the RIDES bus—a homebound route was established. This initiative has proven so successful that the bus route now operates at full capacity, and a waiting list has been instituted.

After nearly seven years of consistently offering hot meals, Heaven's Kitchen recognized a deeper need in the community. In response to ongoing food insecurity and following extensive discussions and prayer, the program evolved. As of May 2025, the weekly meal have been replaced with each household now receiving a bag of groceries designed to provide several meals and snacks. Looking ahead, plans are underway to include fresh fruits and vegetables in these bags this summer. Stay tuned for more information regarding our "Backpack for Kids" program that will be launching in June 2025!
